CNE-Net, the education division of the North Dakota Nurses Association, is accredited
as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s system for accreditation of continuing
nursing education is a voluntary peer-reviewed accreditation process. An institution,
organization, agency, or entity submits to an in-depth analysis of their continuing
nursing education program to determine the capacity of the organization to provide
quality continuing education activities for nurses. ANCC accreditation status, which
includes annual reviews, is valid for four years. ANCC is the largest and most prominent
nurse credentialing organization in the United States.
As an ANCC accredited Provider, CNE-Net, the education division of the North Dakota
Nurses Association, has proven its ability to plan and provide quality continuing nursing education activities for nurses. As an accredited Approver, CNE-Net, the
education division of the North Dakota Nurses Association, reviews applications for continuing education programs planned by other organizations.
This accreditation also allows CNE-Net, the education division of the North Dakota
Nurses Association, to approve other organizations as Approved Providers, allowing
those organizations to plan and provide continuing nursing education programs for their own organization.
For more information on becoming an Approved Provider, please contact the
Director of Education.

LPN IV Therapy Course
The purpose of this course is to provide the licensed practical nurse with the necessary
knowledge and technical skills to safely perform and manage intravenous (IV) therapy.
This course consists of two components: Thirty (30) hours of theory and a minimum
of four (4) hours of supervised clinical practice.
The thirty (30) hour theory component is divided into six modules of study. Each
module contains reading assignments and study guide questions. The study guide must
be completed before the clinical practicum. After completion of the study guide,
a proctored test is administered. A passing score of 75% must be achieved. Students
are given the opportunity to repeat the exam one time. Upon completion of theory
and passing the exam, the student will proceed to a supervised clinical practicum.
The clinical practicum is a minimum of four (4) hours under the supervision of a
registered nurse preceptor at a facility which utilizes IV therapy in its scope
of services. The course participant must complete a minimum of three (3) successful
venipunctures and IV therapy management experiences under the supervision of the
preceptor to pass the clinical component of the course.
